Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Istituto di Scienze Marine (CNR-ISMAR)
CNR-ISMAR is a public entity that conducts scientific and technological research in the marine field. The group of researchers involved in the project carries out research activities in the field of physical oceanography, in particular regarding transport and dispersion by marine currents.
CNR-ISMAR coordinates the project on scientific, financial and communication plans. It contributes to T2 components – Direct measurements of transport and dispersion at sea, T3 – Models of marine circulation and dispersion. It supervises the realization of the webGIS and its population with datasets of all project components.

Consorzio per il Centro Interuniversitario di Biologia Marina ed ecologia Applicata “G. Bacci” – CIBM
CIBM is a non-profit private law association which conducts environmental surveys for the realization of dredgins, installation of cables and pipelines, analysis of pollutants, studies and assessments on the environmental impact, management of fish resources and marine protected areas, etc.
CIBM promotes advanced and specialized scientific activity (supporting university and post-university research in the environmental field), and it carries out consultancy activities for public and private bodies to protect the marine and coastal environment.
CIBM will evaluate the dispersion of contaminants from the ports and potential effects on the ecological quality of protected areas (MPA). The goals are: 1) to define the level of chemical contamination in the ports and MPA nearby, in relation to the microbial component 2) to quantify the vulnerability due to the dispersion of possible contaminants through a series of biological indices (abundance, fertility rates, degree of genetic variability, gene expression pattern, biomakers, bioaccumulation of trace elements), measured in populations of Pachygrapsus marmoratus.

Consorzio LaMMA
Consorzio LaMMA
Consorzio LaMMA, in the context of the project, actively participates in climate change actions (e.g. coastal erosion, hydrogeological risk) and it contributes to protect the maritime environment and safety at sea.
LaMMA has contributed both to the expansion of the HF radar network and to its use for the purpose of environmental research, for studies of connectivity. It supports anti-pollution activities of the coast guard and the validation of prediction models of the sea state.

Ifremer – Institut français de recherche pour l’exploitation de la mer
Ifremer – Institut français de recherche pour l’exploitation de la mer
Ifremer deals with the study of contamination in the port areas of Corse: it works on chemical contamination, modelling and prediction of marine pollution. All these works are integrated into the water quality monitoring device of the IMPACT project.
The work concerns a synthesis of knowledge on chemical contamination, a review of the contamination in port areas and a contribution to modelling work of pollution transport, by optimising existing models and testing the use of indipendent monitoring tools.

Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA)
Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA)
ISPRA is a public research body which carries out tasks of national interest for the environmental protection. Activities aimed at environmental monitoring are particularly important.
ISPRA, T5 component coordinator (Chemical contaminant monitoring), has the task to supply preexisting data on the contamination in the area of the port of La Spezia-Cinque Terre, to carry out sampling and analysis of the different marine environmental matrices, and to process data obtained.

Laboratoire d’Ecogéochimie des Environnements Benthiques – Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (LECOB-CNRS)
LECOB-CNRS is a multidisciplinary group which aims to deepen the understanding of the dynamics of benthic environments, in order to create a scientific foundation for future marine space planning.
LECOB-CNRS is in charge of quantifying vulnerability to habitat loss of a species of Gorgonia that lives within a Marine Protected Area, near ports. LECOB-CNRS is responsible for WorkPackage Observations and for environmental monitoring of the IMPACT project.

Université de Toulon
Université de Toulon
The University of Toulon, MIO laboratory in particular, brings together multidisciplinary expertise in oceanography, focusing both on current measurement and on the study of pollution in the marine environment.
Its role is to provide expertise in oceanographic measurements of currents, using radar technology and in-situ instruments, as well as current modelling and pollutant transport, particularly in the study area of the port of Toulon and the National Park of Port-Cros.
